Quilt Block of the Month -
Alameda
Join us every month to learn a new quilt block to make. Lead by Roberta Ferran and at a cost of $10.00 every month, you will learn the basics of quilt construction. We ask that you please take "Introduction to Quilting" first as a pre-requisite if you are a beginning quilter.
Machine Embroidery Club - Alameda
Every month we will introduce a new subject for machine embroidery. Bring in your machine and learn from an experienced teacher how to use your embroidery machine. $10.00 per month taught by Gail Allen.
Beginner Block of the Month - Eubank
Want to learn the basics of quilting? During this 6 month program you wil learn the basics of quilting from how to prepare your fabric to how to complete your quilt top.
Starts September 16, 2023 and runs until February 15, 2023. Cost is $35.00 per month. You may purchase a kit for $39.00 or use your own fabric . Call the Eastside store to register!
Introduction to Quilting - Alameda
Have you ever wanted to learn about all the terms, tools, fabrics, and how to use your machine for Quilting? This class will be taught quarterly at the Alameda store to introduce you to quilting. We will make a simple set of 9 patch blocks using a strip piecing method. Quilting is a journey; come in and step aboard! $20.00 taught by Carole Fronk.
Machine Usage - Both Stores
One of the benefits of buying a sewing, embroidery or overlock machine from Bob's is our Machine Usage Classes for new owners. Classes are one on one and unlimited as long as you own your machine. Usage Classes are by appointment only, so please call your store today to arrange for your lesson. If you didn't buy your machine from Bob's, lessons are $35 per hour and up, depending upon the machine.
Longarm and Robotics - Both Stores
Bought a longarm or robotics from Bob's? Call your store today to book a lesson with one of our teachers. We will show you how to load your machine on the frame and adjust the top and bobbin tensions. We'll also show you the features of your machine, and how to use the robotics if you have them.
Beginning Sewing - Alameda
Adult Beginners Sewing Classes will be offered at the Alameda Bob’s Sewing and Vacuum Store on the third Tuesday and third Wednesday of the month. Classes will be available on an individual basis, by appointment only, for $35/hour. Instructor’s Tammy Mendez and Roberta Ferran will work with clients to learn and practice basic sewing techniques including, but not limited to: * how to use a sewing machine * how to select sewing patterns * how to read and work with sewing patterns * how to prepare fabric * and how to accomplish basic sewing techniques such as buttonholes, zippers, sleeves, hems, facings, etc. Participants are encouraged to use their own sewing machine, provided it’s in good working condition, and must provide their own sewing equipment, supplies and materials. Individuals who do not have a machine can make arrangements with the instructor to borrow a machine during class time.
